Employer: Carter Newell Lawyers

Position: Solicitor
Age: 26
Area/s of Practice: Corporate and Commercial
Study: Bachelor of Science, the University of Melbourne. Juris Doctor (post-graduate law), Bond University I also did a semester abroad at Duke University.
Other community involvement: Committee member of the Women Lawyers Association of Queensland (WLAQ). Alumni representative of Bond University Limited. Through my involvement with WLAQ, I have had the opportunity to meet some high profile members of the judiciary and have had the opportunity to attend key industry events and also help organise some of those events.
Favourite book: I am really into Paullina Simons at the moment. Some of my favourite books include, the Bronze Horseman, Kite Runner, Memoirs of a Geisha and Da Vinci Code. I also enjoy reading autobiographies.
Why a Lawyer: When I was young, I thought all lawyers did was wear power suits and walk around the city really fast with a serious face holding compendiums… How wrong I was. In all seriousness, I wanted to become a lawyer to stand up for what was just and defend those in need who had had their rights violated.
What if you weren't a lawyer?: Editor in chief of a fashion magazine.
Where in 10 Years: I don’t like to be confined to 10 year plan so I don’t often plan my life that far ahead. Rather, I’d like to think that in 10 years I will be doing something I love and am passionate about.
